Learn to FLY!

Learning to fly is a challenging and rewarding experience. A building block approach is used, starting with the basics and moving on to more complex areas as skills are developed.

At Athens Air, LLC we focus on the individual student and tailor the training program to your specific requirements. People begin with different experience levels and learn at different rates, depending on how often you fly and other personal factors. Our objective is to develope safe and confident pilots.

The FAA specifies minimum experience requirements for a pilot's license. The minimum for a Private Pilot license is 40 hours, however the national average is approximately 65 hours. For this reason, we do not advertise a package price. All training is at an hourly rate and you only purchase what you need.

We carry all the training and pilot supplies you need to complete your certificate/ratings. The required FAA knowledge test can be taken at Athens Air, LLC in our CATS Testing Center. To schedule your FAA Knowledge Exam call (800) 947-4228. We are also a David Clark Authorized Headset Dealer. Headsets are available for purchase or rent.

Athens Air, LLC offers comprehensive and individualized training to equip you with the skills you will need to enjoy the privileges of your Private Pilot Certificate.

Instrument Rating

Training for the Instrument Rating provides the skill necessary to fly in instrument meteorological conditions. Besides teaching you to fly " on the gauges", instrument flight training will teach you to fly with precision in an increasingly complex air traffic system. Addition of the instrument rating will provide new usefulness and versatility to your certificate.
